Lynn Wilson and Wilson Blackburn not only share a name but also share a common passion for the competitive business of home building. They have spent the last four decades managing various levels of projects costing into the hundreds of millions and in general management of large industrial businesses. They have taken the wide range of skills and abilities required to successfully complete those projects on time and under budget and applied them to successful completion of large custom built homes in coastal and upstate communities.
Keowee Building Solutions, Inc. was created by Lynn and Wilson to provide residential building services to Oconee County and upstate communities. These services are backed by years of construction management experience, engineering and design capabilities, and a belief in delivering value for their customers. They believe the hallmark of a good builder includes a number of characteristics: quality craftsmanship, integrity, customer service and professional experience. Add to this, a proven track record of leadership, attention to detail, excellence in quality, an entrepreneurial spirit, and you have a formula for success.
Lynn Wilson
has over 15 years of experience in building construction and project management. He is a graduate of Wofford College and also The College of Business Administration Management Development Program for Engineers at the University of South Carolina. He is a Licensed Commercial Builder in North Carolina and Residential Builder in both South and North Carolina. Lynn’s “previous” life was in Rockingham, NC as a Vice President of Manufacturing for UCO Fabrics. While in the manufacturing industry, Lynn’s love for building placed him as Project Manager in multiple plant construction and expansion projects in both North and South Carolina. Lynn started a life long dream of becoming a custom homebuilder after a personal house building experience Lynn and his wife Beth had with a homebuilder in Pinehurst, NC. In 2002, Lynn became a licensed builder. He and Beth then built and sold their first spec home in Pinehurst while Lynn was still working full time. As that first successful project came to a close, a previous employer, Fruit of the Loom, asked Lynn to return to FTL as the General Manager of a facility in Rabun Gap, Georgia. While considering the offer, a relocation visit gave Lynn and Beth the opportunity to visit Oconee County. That visit became one of the key factors in their decision to leave North Carolina as they fell in love with the area. The family moved to Lake Keowee in ’03 and again started building a spec home in ’05 while Lynn was working full time with FTL. In ’06, Lynn’s plant fell victim to foreign imports and announced the plant closing. This closing has allowed Lynn to dedicate himself fulltime to building quality homes in the Upstate.

Wilson Blackburn attended Clemson University graduating in1972 with an engineering degree in Technical Operations-Power and a minor in Industrial Management. During his Clemson years he spent the summers working on the construction of Oconee Nuclear Power Plant and developed a love for Lake Keowee and the upstate. Upon graduation he entered the U.S. Army and spent four years in construction management in the Corps of Engineers. After leaving the military, he spent the next 15 years in project management and engineering management with several companies including Proctor and Gamble, Celanese, Mead Paper, and Georgia Pacific. His successful project management career led to general management opportunities at senior executive levels in other companies and he became President and CEO of three of those businesses. During the 16 relocations involved in that career, Wilson and his wife Linda had the opportunity to build and renovate numerous homes and developed his passion for residential building. After an early retirement in 1996, they built a retirement home on five acres on Chesapeake Bay to accommodate Wilson’s love for sailing. However their close ties to Clemson and Lake Keowee led them to relocate to Lake Keowee in 2002 where they plan to spend their retirement.
Since that relocation Wilson has been involved in the building of several homes on Lake Keowee and the remodeling of his personal home. This activity led to the decision to join Lynn Wilson in creating a business that would allow him to pursue his passion for residential building.
